Big Boy Jaxon!

On Wednesday Jaxon decided he wanted to start using the Potty. I was not ready for this! I had planned on starting the dreaded potty training in a couple of months but he was ready and I couldn't tell him no. So we went to walmart, got a potty chair, some pull ups and treats and we are starting the journey. Wish me luck and if you have any tips let me know cuz I have NO idea what I am doing!!!

  1. Yay Jax!!! It will be frustrating for sure but stick to your guns! Hold em tight! Zion would literally bounce in and out of wanting to potty in the big boy potty for like a year. He would be amazing one day and then the next it was like he forgot! Uggg! I had heard from several peeps that boys where harder. Its TRUE so be strong. What finally worked for me was getting rid of the TV. It was creating laziness and he just wouldnt. But as soon as I got rid of it he was on his own in one day! I didnt even have to remind him. But what really sealed the deal...Who is his favorite cartoon character or figure or super hero. Zions was spider man. We got him big boy pants with spider man, I told him if he pooped or peed on spider man we would have to throw spider man away! So he never did! I was suprised it worked. Letting him pic out his big boy pants works awesome too because he picked them out and he has total claim on them. There his and he wont want to mess them! Not sure if Jax will respond well to that way but its worth a shot. Its amazing not having to change a toddlers bum!!! Good Luck, I hope you have total potty success. PS, throwing cherrios in the toilet and having him aim for them bombed at our house. Zion just reached in to grab them! Cute but gross!

  2. Hooray for Jax - but poor you! I swear I don't remember going thru it with Gage so I must have blocked it from all the trauma. lol. right now Cait is doing pretty well, but when she started at the start of summer, she only was interested every once in a while. I read that you shouldn't FORCE the issue so I just went with her whims. The best thing is having her not wear anything (in the house of course) and she's only had 1 or 2 accidents. She always went in her potty. But then today she insisted that she go in her diaper - SO frustrating! Good luck ;-)
